Teach for Romania will select 50 intelligent and educated young people with leadership potential and the desire to make a difference, train them in leadership and teaching skills and place them as teachers in public schools for a two year period. We are looking for individuals from all backgrounds, majors and professional experiences who have what it takes to excel as teachers, and to improve the quality of education.

We recognize that leaders come in many forms and with diverse past experiences so, whether you’ve achieved academic honors, led your students’ council, managed a complex project at work, volunteered for a cause that’s important to you or organized the best freshmen’s prom, you might be who we’re looking for.

In particular, we are looking for the following skills:

•    Outstanding achievement with a proven track-record academically, professionally or through involvement in extra-curricular activities;
•    Perseverance, resilience and sustained focus in the face of challenges;
•    The ability to influence and motivate others;
•    Superior organizational ability: planning well and managing responsibilities effectively;
•    Strong critical thinking skills: making accurate connections between cause and effect and generating relevant solutions to problems;
•    The ability to build strong relationships in diverse environments;
•    Commitment to Teach for Romania’s mission and goals.
